» A successful year for the Development Office

Now that 2011 is about to finish, time has come to take stock of what has been a remarkable year. New contracts, new training programs and new staff members joining the Development Office are some examples of achievements. Surely in 2012 the Office will continue ‘working with Europe’, thus working with you.

Even in the face of dwindling stocks and soaring prices, we have been inspired by the loyalty of our partners and the interest and trust shown by the participants of our training activities. Without them we would not have been able to conclude this year with such amazing results. ACTIVITIES

Executive Training Programme "Public Administration and Innovative HR Technologies"

From 31 October to 8 November 2011, the Development Office organised a tailor-made Executive Training Programme for a group of 10 senior civil servants of the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RAPA).

EU Negotiations in Practice – Getting ready for EU Accession!

From 10 to 14 October 2011, the Development Office of the College of Europe organised a one-week training programme on EU Negotiations. In this hands-on workshop, a group of 17 participants learnt the principles and practice of EU decision-making and simulated a tailor-made exercise on Accession Negotiations.

A successful launch of a professional training on EU Project Management

During the first three weeks of July, the Development Office organised the 18th edition of its renowned summer training programme, the 'Intensive Seminar on the EU'.

Preparing EU neighbours for jobs related to the European Union

From 28 to 30 November, the Development Office of the College of Europe organised the first training seminar in the framework of the ENP regional project "Preparing staff for EU-ENP related jobs", on EU Institutions and EU decision-making process for 36 public administration officials coming from various ENP countries.

In the framework of a contract with the EU Delegation in Yerevan, the Development Office of the College of Europe is assisting the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia in the organisation of their curriculum.

Le Service de Développement du Collège d'Europe finalise les préparations d'une formation sur mesure de deux jours intitulée « Négociations d'adhésion de la Serbie à l'Union européenne : processus, compétences et techniques » qui se déroulera à Belgrade les jeudi 8 et vendredi 9 décembre 2011.

On 16 December 2011, the Development Office of the College of Europe will take part in the closing conference of the project 'European Integration Scholarships – Speak European: Professional Development for Accession' in Belgrade.

Contract Award: Communicating the External Relations of the EU

In consortium with the communications agency MOSTRA, the Development Office of the College of Europe has been awarded the framework contract 'Lot 2' to provide information and communication services in the field of EU's External Relations to the European Commission's Foreign Policy Instruments Service.

New EU Contract Award: Training EU Officials on EU Governance matters

The Development Office, in consortium with the European Institute of Public Administration EIPA (NL) and eXact learning solutions S.p.A. (IT), has been awarded the framework contract 'Lot 6: EU governance matters' for the provision of consultancy and training services for staff of all EU institutions, bodies and agencies.
